WESTMAN REGIONAL PLAYOFFS 2011-2012 RULES
1ST ROUND TO BE COMPLETED BY: JANUARY 24
2ND ROUND TO BE COMPLETED BY: FEBRUARY 5
3rd ROUND TO BE COMPLETED BY: FEBRUARY 18
If there were a 9 team playoff:
Round 1 done by Jan. 18 Round 2 done by Jan. 28
Round 3 done by Feb. 7th Round 4 done by Feb. 18
-Teams are reminded that these playoffs take precedence. All rounds must be completed as indicated above.
- FINES: Not meeting deadlines and reporting results: both teams will be fined $25.00 and if it passes more than 2 days after that both teams will be charged $50.00
- Hockey Manitoba regulations state that “Each Region will conduct play-offs and declare a regional rural winner in each category and division on or before the 3rd weekend in February.” Weather, of course, might become a factor. Plan so that you give yourselves alternate dates within the required deadlines. NO EXTENSIONS.
- Deadline date for not meeting dates and reporting results: both teams will be fined $25.00 and if it passes more than 2 days after that both teams will be charged $50.00
GAME TIMES
ATOM & PEEWEE: Three (3) fifteen (15) minute, stop time periods.
BANTAM & MIDGET: Two (2) fifteen (15) minute periods.
One (1) twenty (20) minute period.
As a MINIMUM, ice must be resurfaced before the start of the game and between the second and third period.
OVERTIME:
As per Hockey Manitoba guidelines:
-2 minute break
-Teams do not change ends
-10 minutes, stop time, sudden victory
IF STILL TIED AFTER FIRST OVERTIME
-Off Ice Break
-Continue 20 minute, Sudden Victory period (s)
GAME LOCATIONS
(Playoff year if odd years (i.e. 2003,2005) goes East for extra game and even years(i.e.2004,2006) goes west for extra game Team furthest WEST will get Games 1 and 3 ( If a third game is necessary)

OFFICIALS
A team wanting neutral officials for the third game of the series, must request same prior to the start of the series. Said team will be required to pay one-half the cost of the referee (s) and one-half the cost of the mileage. Teams should consider the cost of neutral officials and the use of, before requesting same.
Adult timekeepers /scorekeepers to be used in the time box during all games.
